GDA Dress Code
GDA Class Dress Code
Color Coordinated Levels – Each level has an assigned leotard color. This will make it easier for instructors to quickly identify their students, for GDA staff to direct students and serve parents more effectively, create a sense of "belonging" amongst classmates, provide a potential costume base if performing at an event, and add a level of professionalism.
As a service to our families, we will be putting together dancewear options for each level and emailing them once registration is complete. You are not obligated to place an order through GDA, but we do love when people support small businesses whenever they can! If you choose to order on your own, the only requirement is the solid color, and that no midriffs are exposed. Accents, such as rhinestones or mini bows, are acceptable.

Tiny Tots
Light Pink
Solid color light pink leotard (no prints allowed), solid color tights or leggings, pink leather Ballet shoes with a single strap. Light pink skirts and tutus are welcome! Boys wear solid black athletic pants, solid color shirt, and black leather ballet shoes with single strap.

Lavender

Light Blue

Level I
Purple
Dark Purple leotard (no prints allowed), solid color tights or leggings, solid color dance shorts or tie skirt worn with tights underneath. Purple or Black pull on skirts (no tutus) are welcome!
Level I Shoes: Ballet - pink leather Ballet shoes with criss cross double straps. Tap - carmel/tan colored single strap Tap shoe. Jazz/Musical Theatre - carmel/tan colored slip on Jazz shoe. Lyrical - Leather Nude/Tan colored Lyrical shoe with heel strap. Hip Hop - Black athletic shoes with black laces and white sole. Level II
Burgundy
Class Attire: Burgundy leotard (no prints allowed), solid color tights or leggings, dance shorts worn with tights underneath. Black pull on, or tie skirts (no tutus) are welcome!
Level II Shoes: Ballet - pink leather Ballet shoes with criss cross double straps. Tap - Black oxford style tie Tap shoe. Jazz/Musical Theatre - carmel/tan colored slip on Jazz shoe. Lyrical - Leather Nude/Tan colored Lyrical shoe with heel strap. Hip Hop - Black athletic shoe with black laces and white sole. Acro - mesh/leather bottom nude/tan half soled shoe. Level III
Black

Any Dark Shade (Navy, black, hunter green, etc.)
Any dark shade leotard (navy, black, hunter green,etc), solid color tights or leggings, dance shorts worn with tights underneath. Black pull on, or tie black skirts are welcome!
Level IV Shoes: Ballet - pink leather Ballet shoes with criss cross double straps. Tap - Black oxford style tie Tap shoe. Jazz/Musical Theatre - carmel/tan colored slip on Jazz shoe. Lyrical - Leather Nude/Tan colored Lyrical shoe with heel strap. Hip Hop - Nike Tanjun black athletic shoe with white swish and bottom. Acro - mesh/leather bottom nude/tan Acro half soled shoe. Any solid color tights, leggings, or dance shorts WITH tights can be worn underneath or over the top of their leotards. All Dancers should be covered from chest down to at least under the knee, or longer.
For cooler days, dancers can wear a solid color black, gray, or white tight fitting tank top, long sleeved dance wrap, or long sleeved sweater wrap over their leotard. Our little Dancers can wear long sleeved t-shirts, turtlenecks, etc. under their leotards as well. We will also have some examples of these items included with dancewear options.
